FAQs

  • Yes. Missouri is a limited Direct Access state for physical therapy, where patients need a referral from a doctor for treatment, not evaluations. Patients are allowed to seek evaluation from a licensed physical therapist without a prescription or referral from a physician. However, if you plan on seeking reimbursement from insurance, your insurance provider may require a physician’s referral. You may self-refer, and when the evaluation is completed, your therapist will send a Letter of Medical Necessity to your physician; once signed, this acts as a prescription for physical therapy and has to be completed within 7 days of the initial evaluation.

  • Currently the only plans that are in network are Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • Cash-based physical therapy means that we are out of network with all insurance companies and do not directly bill through insurance (thought you may be eligible for reimbursement directly from your insurance company). Our patients pay directly each visit for their 1-on-1, personalized physical therapy session. This gives the ability to focus all of my attention on the patient and perform treatments to focus on patient goals without being dictated by insurance rules and regulations

  • I work for the patient, not insurance companies. In my experience, the patient is far better off when the insurance company isn’t dictating how they are treated or for how long. I want to spend as much time as possible with the patient helping them – not completing forms, making the visit shorter based on time codes, dealing with claims processing and arguing for appeals. Unfortunately, our healthcare system is more about making a profit instead of helping the patient. I am doing my best to reverse that trend!

  • A superbill is a detailed invoice outlining the services a client received. Therapists may need to generate a superbill when they are not on a client's insurance company's approved provider list. This allows clients to bill their insurance company directly. It includes information similar to an insurance claim form, such as the date of the service provided, procedure codes and a total balance due. By submitting your receipt, you may be able to recover a percentage of the cost you pay upfront (typically 60-80%) from your insurance company, depending on your "out of network" coverage

  • I work with athletes and individuals of all ages, skill levels, who play all types of sports. I have experience treating everyone from 7-8 year gymnasts and soccer players, to collegiate competitors, to professionals athletes, to the working adult, to the active geriatric population, and everyone in between! My passion is helping people return to or get better at the activities they love.

  • We start by discussing what brings you in, any limitations you currently have, your medical history, the activities/hobbies you enjoy and want to get back to, your goals, and more – to create a holistic picture. Then I perform a thorough physical movement assessment, testing your range of motion strength, stability, and finding areas of pain. You will receive some manual therapy treatment if needed as well as given some exercises for home to work on until the next visit.
